Consular information

Homestay Visas (Visitor's Visas)

To obtain a homestay (visitor's) visa the following documents should be submitted to the Consular Section of the Embassy:

  1. Completed visa application form (one per person) available at the Consular Section.
  2. Copies of the pages of the passport that contain personal data of the bearer and the original passport. Personal presence of the applicant is required.
  3. One photograph of the applicant with a light background and preferably on a matte paper.
  4. IZVESHCHENIE (ÈÇÂÅÙÅÍÈÅ), an original permission from a local Russian Passport and Visa Service (PVS). It also may be called PRIGLASHENIE (ÏÐÈÃËÀØÅÍÈÅ). PLEASE NOTE THAT ONLY ORIGINALS ARE ACCEPTED.
    Your relatives or friends in Russia should obtain IZVESHCHENIE for you from PVS or Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation (Moscow) or regional representations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and send it by mail to your address in Bahrain.
    IZVESHCHENIE or PRIGLASHENIE is valid within one year from the date indicated therein. The period of stay in Russia is shown in a separate paragraph and must not exceed 90 days.
  5. Consular fee.

Important:

  • If you apply for a visa valid for more than three months, you must submit HIV Test (AIDS) Certificate.
  • If you want to extend your visa while in Russia you should apply to the Russian Passport and Visa Service (PVS) in the area of your residence in Russia.

Other notes:

  • Visa processing fees are not refundable.
  • Visa processing starts only after we have collected all necessary documents.
  • If you fail to follow the above-mentioned requirements, your visa application will not be processed. If the papers are not acceptable for any reason or some documents are missing, we will return them.
  • After you receive your visa please check it for mistakes and, if necessary, return it to the Consular Section for corrections. The Consular Section will not be responsible for any mistakes in visas which were not brought to its attention prior to departure from Bahrain.
